New Orleans Pelicans talisman Anthony Davis has been in the midst of trade rumors going back to a season ago when the Boston Celtics first-reported interest in him. Now only a season away from his impending free agency, his switch to Klutch Sports, managed by LeBron James' friend and business partner Rich Paul, has changed that narrative to a potential move to the Los Angeles Lakers.

However, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski is a firm believer Anthony Davis is looking for reasons to stay, rather than leave The Big Easy.

“My sense has always been with Anthony that he is always: some players are looking for reasons to stay and some players are looking for reasons to leave,” said Wojnarowski on the Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective Show (via RealGM). “I've always thought that Anthony is a guy looking for reasons to stay in New Orleans. And I think that will continue to be the case until he feels he's out of them.

“I do think down the line that the Boston and L.A., if he became available, that will be interesting, especially if the Lakers get shut out this summer.”

Davis has been true to New Orleans so far and has never uttered a word to make anyone think otherwise, but the player must also feel like there's more than a level of progress, but also a feeling of attainability to satisfy his championship aspirations.

The Lakers and Celtics are both powerhouses with the star power to make that happen, yet Anthony Davis is doing the honorable thing by stepping up his game even more while giving New Orleans a chance to prove they can put enough talent around him to make a title run possible.
