The Philadelphia Eagles head to Texas to take on the Dallas Cowboys in an NFC Eastern divisional battle. Considering how open the division is right now, this is a must-win game for both franchises. It's time to continue our NFL predictions series with an Eagles Week 3 prediction.

Philadelphia's defense has looked surprisingly good in their first two games. This bodes well for their chances against Dallas, as the Cowboys have an electrifying offense. Ezekiel Elliott hasn't looked great though and the Eagles will look to exploit that.

The run game has been solid so far thanks to Miles Sanders and Kenneth Gainwell. However, we could see Gainwell play well enough where the coaching staff is forced to give him more playing time. Additionally, DeVonta Smith seems to be the top receiver in Philadelphia and he should play like it on Monday night. Lastly, this is a big moment for Jalen Hurts, as he has a chance to prove himself on the NFL's center stage. With that said, here are four bold Eagles Week 3 predictions versus the Cowboys.

Eagles Week 3 Predictions

4. Eagles defense shuts down Ezekiel Elliott

It's been a rough go for Ezekiel Elliott so far and it's unclear whether he'll bounce back or not. Tony Pollard has earned himself a role on the offense which doesn't bode well for Elliott's future. Regardless, the Cowboys will utilize him and the Eagles will be all over him. Look for Philadelphia to shut down the run game on Monday night.

3. Kenneth Gainwell proves he deserves an expanded role

He's looked good so far as the backup running back for the Eagles. He gives Philadelphia versatility, as Kenneth Gainwell can play as an extra receiver for Jalen Hurts. He has the potential to be a unique satellite back similar to Austin Ekeler one day. Keep an eye on Gainwell in Week 3, as he could be the X-Factor the Eagles need to beat the Cowboys.

2. DeVonta Smith goes berserk for 125+ yards and 2 touchdowns

It was a quiet game in Week 2 for DeVonta Smith, but the good news was he was targeted seven times. He's bound to become the Eagles top wideout and it could happen on Monday night. Dallas has a young defense who could be exploited by the Eagles' passing game. If that's the case, Smith could be in for a huge performance.

1. Jalen Hurts dominates the Cowboys

When it comes to versatility, Jalen Hurts provides exactly that. He's looked great so far as the Eagles starting quarterback and that trend should continue against the Cowboys. To do so, he'll have to take advantage of the Cowboys' aggressive play, as they're likely to come at him with full force. To counter that, look for Hurts to use his legs to extend plays, or gash the defense for big gains.

If Jalen Hurts can dominate the Cowboys during prime time football, he'll put himself in conversations as being an elite quarterback in the league. The stars are aligning for Hurts to become an even bigger name in the NFL, he just has to prove it on Monday night football.
