Las Vegas Raiders: 4 bold predictions for Week 3 vs. Dolphins

Raiders, Raiders Week 3 Predictions, Raiders Dolphins, Dolphins

The Las Vegas Raiders are set to take on the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Vegas has looked phenomenal so far, defeating the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers to kick off the season. It’s time to continue our NFL predictions series with a Raiders Week 3 prediction.

Tua Tagovailoa is ruled out after suffering a fractured rib injury in Week 2. Jacoby Brissett takes over as the starter for this matchup, which bodes well for the Raiders defense. Miami looked stagnant with Tagovailoa out of the lineup. We should see the Raiders defense have a big day on Sunday.

As for the offense, the Raiders have looked electric. Derek Carr is balling out right now and we should see him have another big performance. Las Vegas was missing Josh Jacobs against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he’s returning and can give the Raiders improved consistency in the run game. Additionally, Darren Waller is undoubtedly one of the best tight ends in the league. We should see him on full display on Sunday. With that said, here are four bold Raiders Week 3 predictions versus the Dolphins.

Raiders Week 3 Predictions

4. Raiders defense shuts down the Dolphins

This is simply a tough matchup for the Dolphins. The Raiders pass rush has been on fire to start the season. It’s not like Miami has the best offensive line in the league, so we should see the pass rush attacking Brissett often. The secondary has looked decent as well, making the Raiders defense well-rounded. Look for Vegas to turn it up against a hobbled Miami offense.

3. Derek Carr continues his hot streak

This man has been on a tear to start the 2021 season and it doesn’t look like it’s going to end anytime soon. In two games, Derek Carr has thrown for 617 yards and three touchdowns. He looks supremely confident and serves as the leader for this football team.

There was a lot of doubt surrounding the Raiders heading into the season but if Carr puts up another big game, those critics will likely be silenced. Look for Carr to dominate the Dolphins on Sunday.

2. Josh Jacobs bounces back in a big way

After struggling with injuries, Josh Jacobs sat out in Week 2. It was for the best as the Raiders will need him throughout the season. After resting, we should see Jacobs back to his normal self, providing the Raiders with a steady run game.

He’s an important piece to this team and could be in for a big game on Sunday. The Dolphins have allowed a ton of yards on the ground so far. That trend should continue with Josh Jacobs and the Raiders.

1. Darren Waller goes off for 150+ receiving yards

The only other tight end that is in contention with Darren Waller as the best in the league is Travis Kelce. Everyone else is in a distant third. With that said, Waller is the top receiving option for the Raiders and we’ll see that again in this matchup.

He’s easily Derek Carr’s favorite pass option, as he already has 26 targets on the year (19 of which came in Week 1). We should see another big game from the Raiders superstar tight end as he’ll play a crucial role in their success against the Dolphins.
