The Philadelphia Phillies have acquired outfielder Corey Dickerson in a trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN.

Dickerson has played in 43 games this season, slashing .317/.376/.556 with four home runs and 25 RBI over 141 plate appearances.

The 30-year-old was originally selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 29th round of the 2009 MLB Draft, but the two sides could not come to terms on a deal. Then, the following year, Dickerson was drafted by the Rockies for a second time, this time in the eighth round.

He eventually made his big-league debut with the club in 2013, registering a slash line of .263/.316/.459 with five long balls and 17 RBI across 213 trips to the plate.

Dickerson then had a breakout year the following season, slashing .312/.364/.567 with 24 dingers, 27 doubles, six triples and 76 RBI through 478 plate appearances.

While he has not matched that type of slash line since, he has still been a solid hitter, as he then slashed .304/.333/.536 with 10 homers and 31 RBI over 234 trips to the plate during his final year in Colorado in 2015.

Dickerson then went on to join the Tampa Bay Rays for two years, and after a somewhat lackluster first season with the club in which he slashed just .245/.293/.469, he rebounded by slashing .282/.325/.490 with 27 home runs and 62 RBI during his second year with the Rays, making the All-Star team as a result.

He has spent the past year-and-a-half with the Pirates, and in his first season in Pittsburgh, Dickerson posted a slash line of .300/.330/.474 with 13 dingers, 35 doubles, seven triples, and 55 RBI. In addition, he won a Gold Glove award.
