Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl Release Date: November 19, 2021

First announced back last February during their 25th-year anniversary celebration live stream, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will bring trainers back to the Sinnoh region. The remakes feature updated chibi 3D graphics, staying true to the art style of the originals. The three starters, Chimchar, Piplup, and Turtwig, reprise their roles in the remakes. Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl will come out on November 19, 2021.

Meanwhile, we still don't have specifics on the game's features and gameplay. It'll most likely stay true to the original games' gameplay loop. However, some fans may feel that new features in later titles, such as Mega Evolutions, should return in the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Remakes. Leaked promotional materials suggest that Mega Evolutions will return in some form, but none of this has been confirmed.

We also don't know if the remakes will feature the exact same story as the originals. While Sinnoh's story is not in any way revolutionary, it still was a thoughtful story that many fans appreciated. However, a new story that subverts expectations ala Final Fantasy 7 Remake would be welcome, too. Either way, Pokemon fans don't buy their games for the story anyway, so both cases would be just fine.
