A few weeks after calling out the Los Angeles Rams regarding the $2 million he's owed in guaranteed money, former linebacker Clay Matthews is taking his frustration to the next level.

According to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk, the veteran linebacker has filed his grievance papers to the NFL Players Association against the Los Angeles franchise.

Matthews, who signed with the Rams last season after 10 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, started 13 games while recording 37 tackles, nine tackles for a loss, eight sacks and three passes defended.

However, 33-year-old isn't the only ex-Rams player to complain about not receiving his guaranteed money, as All-Pro running back Todd Gurley also called the team out on Twitter.

While both players have yet to receive their money, Rams General Manager Les Snead stated two weeks ago on NFL Network that both Matthews and Gurley will get their money in time.

“They’re definitely owed money,” Snead said in the interview. “That money is guaranteed. We’re going to pay them. There’s some language in the contract of exactly when you pay them, and that’s what we’re adhering by. What I do know is both Clay and Todd earned that money, and they’re going to get that money.”

As a whole, the Rams missed the playoffs in 2019 — one season after making the Super Bowl. They went for 9-7 and put out the league's 17th ranked defense by allowing 22.8 points per game.
