McVay, 34, entering his fourth season in charge of the Rams, expressed skepticism in the current schedule for NFL events. Already, the league has seen the players union (the NFLPA) push for a reduction in preseason games, which originally started at four and now could just be two per team—with the union pushing for no exhibition contests at all.
The Rams are coming off a 9-7 season one year removed from making their first Super Bowl appearance in 17 years. A Coach of the Year for the Rams in his debut season in 2017, McVay is among NFL coaches who have to adapt on the fly with changing protocols and measures by the league with coronavirus threatening to change the normal routine of spring and summer workouts and the preseason training camp.
