The Los Angeles Rams managed to finish an unlikely comeback against the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Championship Game. To no surprise, head coach Sean McVay and Jared Goff celebrated accordingly afterward.

Los Angeles escaped with a win thanks to a clutch 57-yard kick by Greg Zuerlein. Cameras caught McVay and Goff locked in a warm embrace following the game, via NFL Twitter:

Their excitement is certainly understandable. The Rams managed to defy the odds by going into New Orleans and securing a win to advance to Super Bowl LIII. Goff and McVay have certainly come a long way over the last two seasons.

It is no secret that the Rams got off to a rough start this game. They were flat-out dominated on both sides of the ball and quickly found themselves in a 13-0 hole after the first quarter. Fortunately, Goff was finally able to find his rhythm as Los Angeles forced overtime. He finished the game having completed 24-of-40 passes for 297 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.

There was plenty of speculation regarding whether or not the Rams had made the right move when they paired McVay with Goff prior to the 2017 campaign. Many had already labeled the former No. 1 overall pick as a bust going into his second year. Although McVay had received a lot of hype for the turnaround, there were still doubts about his credibility because he had yet to win a playoff game. Goff and McVay are now headed to a Super Bowl in just their second year together.
