Per David Lock of the Locked On Sports network, Kawhi Leonard had a deja vu moment Tuesday evening by scoring 19 points in the third quarter in a contest against the Utah Jazz.

On April 2nd of 2017, Leonard (then with San Antonio Spurs) scored 19 points as well in the third quarter of that game against the Jazz. It's ironic, but perhaps Leonard just finds himself very comfortable in the second half against Utah.

Ever since being traded to the Toronto Raptors in a blockbuster trade that sent DeMar DeRozan and Jakob Poetl to the San Antonio Spurs for Danny Green and Leonard, he's had a wonderful season for the Raptors. Though he isn't extremely indoctrinated within Nick Nurse's offensive scheme, he's such a talented offensive weapon that he can freelance isolations and still score efficiently.

On the season Leonard is averaging 26.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists while shooting 48.7 percent from the field and 36.9 percent from beyond the arc. He's been such an effective two-way weapon for the Raptors that he likely will stay as among the top MVP candidates for the rest of the season.

The Raptors are definitely the best team in the Eastern Conference, and they have an opportunity to make it all the way to the Finals. There's no longer a LeBron James in the way. The Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks are both very good teams, but it will be very difficult for them to overtake such a deep and talented Raptors squad.

The Raptors on the season are 28-11 and currently sit 1st in the NBA's Eastern Conference. They will face off next against the San Antonio Spurs in Texas this upcoming Thursday.
