Riot Games and Choice Provisions revealed that Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story, a new rhythm runner game, will arrive on Nintendo Switch next week. When the release date rolls around, Riot will hope that Hextech Mayhem will follow the popularity of the renowned MOBA League of Legends, especially after the recent conclusion of Worlds 2021 and the global success of its Netflix series, Arcane.

Hextech Mayhem: A League of Legends Story Release Date: November 16, 2021

The League of Legends-inspired title, Hextech Mayhem, will be coming out on November 16, 2021 on Switch, and pre-orders just launched today.

The new title marks Riot's first foray into the Switch platform, but it isn't the first time that the company has designed non-PC games. It already expanded its contents with Wild Rift for a mobile-ready version of League of Legends. Not to mention, Riot executives recently revealed plans for more non-gaming entertainment through shows and potentially movies. As a rhythm runner, though, fans can expect Hextech Mayhem to offer much different gameplay despite bringing familiar characters.

Set in the League of Legends universe, the new Switch game features the yordle Ziggs as the auto-running main character. You control Ziggs to jump, slide and bomb your way through levels—bopping in-time with the beat of the music. As you outrun Heimerdinger, who's hell-bent on stopping Ziggs from lighting up every fuse, players just have to avoid obstacles and disarm enemies—and even blast stuff all at once for bonus points (and maximum chaos).

With Hextech Mayhem, crossovers with other games, and Arcane‘s smashing success, Riot seems just about ready to conquer every nook and cranny of the gaming and entertainment world. Long-time fans will hope this means only good things for League of Legends and the rest of the Runeterra universe moving forward.
