The Houston Rockets are hopefully in the midst of avoiding headlines for a while after a locker room meltdown occurred this week, with Russell Westbrook stating his desire to want out of Clutch City due to his inability to control the offense with James Harden on the floor.

While nothing has materialized in that matter, it appears the two longtime friends are still in good spirits, with Harden taking to his Instagram to wish Westbrook a happy 32nd birthday on Thursday.

Westbrook made headlines on Wednesday after it was reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic that the former MVP wanted to part ways with the Rockets after only one season. Westbrook cited the team's lack of accountability and and culture as his prime reasons as well for wanting to leave and hopes that his next role will be similar to that of his time with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Rockets experienced a lower winning percentage this season than that during Chris Paul's era alongside Harden, which prompted even former head coach Mike D'Antoni to throw in the towel shortly after arriving back home in the aftermath of being eliminated from the playoffs. With the resignation of Daryl Morey as well, it appeared that both Westbrook and Harden expressed some uncertainty in the future path of the Rockets.

After the two stars made headlines with their frustration, role players such as Austin Rivers, PJ Tucker and Eric Gordon started coming out of the woods and giving their two cents in regards to how their respective seasons have played out with the Rockets so far as well, signaling that newly appointed general manager Rafael Stone may have his hands full in the coming weeks.
