The Houston Rockets are embarking into a new venture with the addition of Chris Paul, having given nearly half of their roster to acquire the dime maestro from the L.A. Clippers earlier in July.

While Clutch City can perhaps boast one of the most talented backcourts in the league, but the addition comes at a peculiar time, given that cornerstone James Harden is coming off leading the league in assists and taking in the role of playmaker within the lineup.

Head coach Mike D'Antoni was expected to change his offensive formula one more time for this new-look team, but the 66-year-old offered there was really no challenge in coaching these two All-Stars within the same backcourt.

“To be honest with you — and I’m not trying to be cute — it’s not challenging at all,” said D'Antoni, according to CBS' James Herbert.

Paul and Harden have proved to be playing off each other's strengths, with the two recently recording double-digit assists in the same game in a 62-point rout of the Shanghai Sharks.

The dynamic backcourt duo will present a different look for this team, giving another two-way player who is a much-improved three-point shooter, an infallible free-throw ace, and a pest on defense — all attributes that will help this Rockets team run like a well-oiled machine come Oct. 17 against the defending champion Golden State Warriors.
