Although the Seattle Seahawks' playoff run may have come to an end, it was still a successful year for linebacker Bobby Wagner after being selected to his sixth consecutive Pro Bowl. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen if he will be able to take part in the festivities.

Wagner revealed that he is currently dealing with a health issue following a grueling 2019 NFL season and has yet to commit to playing in the Pro Bowl, via Andy Patton of Seahawks Wire:

“I’ll be taking care of my body,” Wagner said on Monday. “There’s a lot of stuff going on that I didn’t know about. Taking care of myself health-wise, having fun, doing the whole family thing.”

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll added that while the injury was surprising, it is not deemed to be too severe.

“He found out today that there was something that he didn’t know about, we didn’t even know it was there,” Carroll said. “He had a little test done, I don’t think it is going to require surgery or anything like that. He didn’t even know he was hurt. Sometimes that happens.”

This is certainly an encouraging update for Wagner. While the Seahawks do not expect him to get surgery, it seems he will still look to take a cautious approach with his recovery this offseason.

Wagner is coming off yet another year where he established himself as the NFL's premier middle linebacker after registering a league-leading 159 tackles, six passes defended, three sacks and a forced fumble in the 201`9 campaign. While teams are always looking to be represented in the Pro Bowl, it is safe to say Seahawks fans would not mind having their defensive shot-caller sit out and avoid any possibility of further aggravating the injury.
