Sixers superstar big man Joel Embiid expressed his disappointment for being subbed out early in their game against the Orlando Magic.

As per Michael Lee of The Athletic, Embiid felt that he could've broken Klay Thompson's record of 14 makes from downtown.

In their 106-111 loss, the Sixers big man finished with a triple-double, 19 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists. Though he started off hot from downtown, he finished the game with four makes from downtown out of seven attempts.

This is their first game with new acquisition Jimmy Butler who finished with 14 points in his 76ers debut. To recall, Butler, along with Justin Patton was traded for Dario Saric, Robert Covington, Jerryd Bayless, and a 2022 second round pick.

For his part, 76ers head coach Brett Brown shared his thoughts with regard to Butler's debut. He admitted it will be hard and it's going to take time for Butler to mesh with his new teammates. Per Tim Bontemps of ESPN:

“I mean, it's hard,” Sixers coach Brett Brown said after the game. “He comes in, and he's trying to do the right thing. You're trying to put in some plays this morning at shootaround. He's trying to figure everybody else out, [and] they're trying to figure him out.

“It's going to take time. It's going to take time. I think, in general, you sort of see what you have in him, and it's incredibly exciting.”
