You have to give Joel Embiid a ton of credit for battling through a couple of significant injuries throughout the Heat series. Now that the Sixers' season has officially come to an end, Embiid dropped a truth bomb about needing to undergo surgery to address his injuries.

According to the Sixers superstar, the medical team has advised him about needing to go under the knife to fix the torn ligament on his right thumb:

“The last time I checked I definitely needed surgery for the thumb,” Embiid said, via Sixers beat reporter Derek Bodner.

To be clear, Embiid did not directly confirm that he's already agreed to undergo surgery. The Sixers All-Star said that he's going to discuss it with everyone. As for his facial injury, however, Embiid believes that no surgery needs to be done for the same.

Embiid will need to take care of his health now that the season is officially over for the Sixers. He did a highly commendable job playing through the pain, and you can't help but feel bad for the guy.

It is certainly going to be a very interesting summer ahead for the Sixers after yet another disappointing end to their season.
