According to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid is still going through some soreness in his surgically-repaired left knee.

Embiid's play as of late makes it seem like he still isn't fully up to speed yet with conditioning, but that's nothing out of the ordinary after the star center did not play for an extended period of time.

The Sixers don't seem very concerned about Joel Embiid's small setback with his knee. The third overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft signed a max contract extension last month that is worth a whopping $148 million over the next five seasons. However, the Sixers' massive deal with the 23-year-old Embiid features some injury exceptions and clauses depending on how much time the star center misses due to knee and feet ailments.

During this 2017-18 NBA regular season for Philadelphia, Embiid has still managed to put up some very impressive numbers for the rising Sixers squad. In nine starts, Joel Embiid is currently averaging a double-double with 20.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.6 blocks, and 1.2 steals per game in just 28.1 minutes of action per contest.

Embiid and the Sixers will face a huge test on Saturday night when they visit the defending champion and juggernaut Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena in Oakland. According to Pompey earlier today, Embiid also revealed that he had some choice words this summer for the reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year and outspoken Warriors star forward Draymond Green.
