The Philadelphia 76ers clearly aren't backing down with regards to the Ben Simmons trade saga. The Sixers have reportedly slapped the want-away star with another hefty fine, this time for missing the team's upcoming six-game road stint.

This report comes from NBA insider Shams Charania of The Athletic:

Shams did not disclose how much the fine will cost Simmons, but we can only assume that it is a significant amount. After all, he will be missing no less than six games here.

It appears that the Sixers aren't buying Simons' claims of having mental health issues. The former Rookie of the Year has already met with the team's mental health specialist and it looks like the team has already made a conclusion about Simmons' current state. After all, if the Sixers really wanted to help a man who's undergoing a major psychological problem, then slapping him with another fine would be counterproductive, to say the least.

As of writing, Simmons' camp has yet to comment on this most recent development. However, his agent, Rich Paul, previously came out with a scathing tirade about the Sixers prioritizing the financial ramifications of the saga over Simmons' mental health. This is quite a response from Philly.
