Under Armour has filed a trademark for a new logo, and it might just belong to Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid.

The sports company described the logo as an “abstract design featuring a series of curved lines.” According to attorney Josh Gerben, the same trademark was filed in Jamaica on Jan. 28:

A quick Twitter question posed by Darren Rovell of The Action Network soon found answers, as the logo seems to fit the bones of an Embiid shoe logo iteration:

Under Armour currently only has a signature shoe for its top endorser, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors. Since taking Curry away from the Nike brand upon the expiration of his contract, the sports outfitter has landed other notable endorsers like his brother Seth, Will Barton, and Dennis Smith Jr.

Joel Embiid is the most high-profile endorser of the brand besides the former two-time MVP, so it stands to reason a signature shoe is in the works, reportedly dropping as soon as this fall.

Big men have been largely out of the signature shoe game since the days of Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, and Shaquille O'Neal, but this could be a major marketing opportunity for the Sixers star, whose popularity has skyrocketed in recent years.

Under Armour has a bevy of notable endorsers in the National Football League and Major League Baseball, but this Joel Embiid signature shoe could be a game-changer to beef up its basketball portfolio besides Curry.
