The Spectro Rover is the first character that players will have access to in Wuthering Waves and is a very strong character at that. In this guide, we will teach players how to build their Spectro Rover, including the best weapons and Echoes to equip.

Spectro Rover Build Guide

Do note that this guide is for the currently available Weapons and Echoes in the game. Should new weapons or Echoes get introduced that are better, we will be sure to update this guide.

Spectro Rover Kit Overview

We already have a guide detailing Spectro Rover's kit. However, let's go through it quickly for the sake of this guide.

The Spectro Rover is an SSR (5-star) Spectro Sword character, whose role in a team is either as a Sub-DPS or the Main DPS. Their Kit revolves around dealing a lot of Spectro damage to enemies, as well as applying buffs to the rest of the team.

The Spectro Rover's Basic Attack, Heavy Attack, Mid-Air Attack, and Dodge Counter all deal Spectro Damage to enemies they hit. Additionally, performing a Heavy Attack and Dodge Counter charges the Rover's Diminutive Sound.

Their Resonance Skill, Resonating Slashes, deals Spectro Damage to the target enemy. If the Rover has at least 50 Diminutive Sound, they will instead cast Resonating Spin, dealing Spectro DMG in a circle around the Spectro Rover.

Their Resonance Liberation, Echoing Orchestra, deals a large amount of Spectro DMG over two damage instances, which can hit multiple enemies.

Spectro Rover Skill Leveling Priority

First level Spectro Rover's Resonance Skill, as that will be your primary source of damage. Follow it up with your Forte Circuit, as that increases the damage that Resonating Whirl does. Next is the Resonance Liberation, which increases the damage it does. Finally, level the Basic Attack and Intro Skill.

Make sure to also level the Inherent Skills when they become available, as well as the other nodes in the Skill Tree.

Spectro Rover Best Weapons Guide

All values are at Rank 5

Emerald of Genesis: Increases Energy Regen by 25.6%. When Resonance Skill is released, increases ATK by 12%, stacking up to 2 time(s). This effect lasts for 10s.

This is currently the best weapon for Spectro Rover, thanks to its high ATK value, as well as up tp 24.3% Crit Rate at Level 90. The Energy Regen helps regenerate energy faster, while the ATK increase can be easily stacked to max thanks to the Resonance Skill cooldown being at 6 seconds.

Commando of Conviction: When Intro Skill is released, increases ATK by 30%, lasting for 15s.

This is a good alternative weapon for the Spectro Rover that players can get a free copy of from the initial free 4-star weapon box. This does mean though that the player will switch between two characters often to activate the additional ATK from the Intro Skill usage.

Lunar Cutter: Equipped Resonator gains 6 stack(s) of Oath upon entering the battlefield. Each stack increases ATK by 2%, up to 6 stacks. This effect can be triggered 1 time(s) every 12s. Oath reduces by 1 stack(s) every 2s. Equipped Resonator gains an additional 6 stack(s) of Oath upon defeating an enemy.

This is perfect for a Sub-DPS Spectro Rover as its skill relies on the Rover staying on the field for only 12 seconds, although they can stay longer if they manage to kill an enemy. It also has decent ATK% values, which will further increase the damage.

Sword of Night: When Intro Skill is released, increases ATK by 16%, lasting for 10s.

This weapon is a more F2P version of the Commando of Conviction, providing the same type of buff upon using the Spectro Rover's Intro Skill. Of course, as it is a 3-star weapon, its stats are lacking compared to the Commando of Conviction.

Spectro Rover Best Echoes Guide

It's important to remember that the ideal allocation of Echoes is 1 4-Cost Echo, 2 3-Cost Echoes, and 2 1-Cost Echoes.

Sonata Effect: 5-piece Celestial Light

  • Spectro DMG +10%
  • Spectro DMG +30% for 15s after releasing Intro Skill
  • Main Echo: Mourning Aix

This is perhaps the most ideal Echoes set for the Spectro Rover, as it provides up to 40% additional Spectro DMG after using an Intro Skill.

Additionally, the Mourning Aix provides a 12% boost to both Spectro DMG and Resonance Liberation DMG for 15s upon transforming into it. This makes it perfect for dealing bursts of damage using the Spectro Rover's Resonance Liberation.

Sonata Effect: 2-piece Celestial Light, 2-piece Lingering Tunes

  • Spectro DMG +10%
  • ATK increases by 10%
  • Main Echo: Mourning Aix

This is a good alternative Echoes set for the Spectro Rover as it provides a DMG bonus in two ways: Spectro DMG Bonus and ATK increase. This will help consistently improve the Spectro Rover's DMG as the buffs do not require additional activation requirements.

The only downside is that what you see is what you get. Other than the Mourning Aix's call effect, the Spectro Rover's DMG will be consistent all throughout without any buffers.

Sonata Effect: 2-piece Celestial Light, 2-piece Moonlit Clouds

  • Spectro DMG +10%
  • Energy Regen increases by 10%
  • Main Echo: Mourning Aix

This is the last good Echoes build for the Spectro Rover, focusing on making sure that the Rover can use their Resonance Liberation over and over again. This becomes the Rover's main source of burst damage when using this set of Echoes.

The downside of this set is that, out of the three possible builds listed here, this will likely have the lowest amount of DMG based on stats alone. Players will need to get good Tuning rolls to make up for the lack of ATK from the Sonata Effects.

For Echo main stats, get Crit DMG or Crit Rate on the 4-cost Echo, Spectro DMG% on both 3-cost Echoes, and ATK% on both 1-cost Echoes. For substats, get more CRIT Rate and DMG, then Energy Regeneration, and finally ATK% and Resonance Liberation/Skill DMG%.

Spectro Rover Teams Guide

As mentioned above, the Rover can serve as both a Main-DPS and Sub-DPS. As such, here are some sample team builds for the Spectro Rover:

Spectro Rover Main DPS – Spectro Rover, Baizhi, Taoqi

This team focuses on the Rover being the main source of damage thanks to their Resonance Liberation and Skill. Baizhi, and alternatively Verina, is the team's healer, making sure that the Rover is topped up in HP while fighting.

Taoqi, on the other hand, serves as a shielder and a Sub-DPS. Thanks to the Spectro Rover's Outro Skill, which slows down enemies, Taoqi will be able to carry out her empowered combo, which in turn will provide the team with a Shield. The player can then switch back to the Spectro Rover to deal more damage.

Spectro Rover Sub-DPS – Encore, Spectro Rover, Baizhi

This team has the Rover taking up the SUb-DPS role, prioritizing using their Outro Skill to support the Main DPS. Encore is a good DPS character, especially after they enter Cosmos Rave.

The player will want to first use the Rover to deal damage, and once their Concerto Energy is full, swap over to the Main DPS. This creates a field that slows enemies down, allowing the Main DPS to deal a huge amount of damage on stationary enemies.

Baizhi, or any other healer like Verina, can take the last spot in the team.

That's all for our guide on the best build, for the Spectro Rover, including their weapons, Echoes, and possible team compositions. Wuthering Waves is available on Google Play, the Apple App Store, and PC via the Epic Games Store and its official PC client.
