With the 2018 NBA playoffs officially underway, there are still questions about Kawhi Leonard. When asked about if Leonard will rejoin the San Antonio Spurs during their first round series against the Golden State Warriors, head coach Gregg Popovich said that is a better question for the 26-year-old and his team.

As Game 2 takes place on Apr. 16, Leonard still has not been cleared by his medical team. Although he is improving, there is also still no return timetable according to Chris Haynes of ESPN:

At this point, it appears unlikely Leonard will play the remainder of the 2017-18 NBA season. While there were reports of him returning at different stages of the regular season, it simply has not happened. In just nine appearances, the two-time All-Star averaged 16.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 23.3 minutes.

Although Leonard has one year remaining on his five-year, $95 million contract, it is difficult not to think about what the future holds for him in San Antonio. There are still way too many questions with not a lot of answers after his last game on Jan. 13 against the Denver Nuggets.

Despite the circumstances, LaMarcus Aldridge and company went 47-35 during the regular season. While they may not have the offensive weapons to keep up with the Warriors in the long run, Popovich and his players did the best they could without Leonard.
