Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown reportedly had an altercation with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger prior to the Week 17 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Brown was inactive for the game due to what many believed was an ongoing knee injury.

However, more information came out earlier on Monday as to the situation surrounding Brown being sidelined, and it seemed to suggest that he had a dispute with one of his teammates.

With no specifics as to which teammate was involved, that led to rampant speculation.

And then, things became rather clear as to who was also a part of the reported altercation.

From NFL insider Jason La Canfora:

The altercation that led Antonio Brown's benching last week was with Ben Roethlisberger. Im told it was fairly ugly and the WR was totally in the wrong. He went AWOL essentially for the 3rd time this season dating back to training camp

With Pittsburgh fans already being disappointing at the team missing the playoffs following a 7-2-1 start, this probably won't put them in any better of a mood.

It's not ideal to have your top quarterback and top wide receiver having issues, especially in a week where the team's postseason hopes were on the line in a must-win game.

And, obviously, Brown being benched didn't help matters at all.

The victory over the Bengals ultimately didn't matter since the Baltimore Ravens took care of business against the Cleveland Browns, but this is obviously something worth monitoring moving forward.
