The Pittsburgh Steelers were Super Bowl picks at one point during the 2020 season before tripping and stumbling down the stretch in a season that eventually resulted in a playoff loss to the Cleveland Browns. In turn, they loaded up on offense in the 2021 NFL Draft, with Alabama running back Najee Harris being the easy choice in the first round. However, the Steelers have another rookie who has proclaimed himself as a do-it-all guy. Yeah, it's rookie tight end Pat Freiermuth.

I think I can do it all,” Freiermuth said, via Daniel Gallen of PennLive.com. “That’s kind of the prospect I was. I was just kind of making sure that I’m very versatile and can do it all on the field and whatever’s asked, lining up at the fullback position or split out to that ‘X’ or ‘Z’ receiver. So I’m ready to do whatever they ask me to do, and I’m just excited to see my progression in this offense.”

A tight end that can do everything? Well, as unnatural as it seems, Freiermuth is out to prove he was worthy of an early selection. Although the Steelers have a multitude of pass-catchers on their roster including JuJu Smith-Schuster, Chase Claypool, James Washington, and Eric Ebron, they went out and added another one.

He had 16 total scores and just under 100 catches (92) in his three years at Penn State. However, the Steelers might have plans to use him in a variety of different ways on offense.

With Ben Roethlisberger returning for another year, and the Steelers signing JuJu back on a one-year deal, this might be their last-ditch effort to steal an AFC crown and get Big Ben another Super Bowl championship before he ends his career.

Could Freiermuth become the secret weapon for the Pittsburgh offense? Only time will tell, but the rookie envisions himself as that guy.
