Le'Veon Bell is still in the middle of his holdout from the Pittsburgh Steelers and while he says he plans to return in a few weeks, the team is still listening to trade offers for him.

According to a report from Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Philadelphia Eagles have been considering a potential trade for Bell, and they've been doing so for some time.

“And if I am the Eagles, who have been mulling the potential of a Bell trade for a while now, nothing I saw last Sunday [against the Titans] would curb my interest. In fact, it would only heighten my desire to acquire a player of this impact given the way the defending Super Bowl champions have limped through the first quarter of the season. A year ago they stirred things up and dealt for Jay Ajayi; a Bell trade midseason this year could boost them even further.”

There is one potential problem that the Eagles could encounter in any trade that brought Bell to Philadelphia. Would he return to the field after being traded or would he continue holding out? More than likely, he would continue sitting out unless the Eagles paid him big bucks.

Bell is one of the best dual-threat running backs in the NFL. He is arguably the best running back in the league and deserves to be paid like it.

Last season with the Steelers, Bell rushed for 1,291 yards and nine touchdowns on 321 carries. He also caught 85 passes for 655 yards and two touchdowns.

Philadelphia could use a talent like Bell in their backfield. Jay Ajayi is a quality running back, but Bell would take their offense to the next level. It won't be cheap to get him, but if the Eagles trade for him and lock him up long-term later on, it will be a huge move towards remaining in Super Bowl contention for years to come.
