Through the first few weeks of the 2018 season, there hasn't been any clarity on when Pittsburgh Steeler star running back Le'Veon Bell will return to the team.

There finally appears to be some, Bell is expected to make his return to the practice field during their Week 7 bye in time to play against the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 28, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

According to Spotrac, if Bell is to return at this point of the season, it would allow him to garner $9.4 million of the original $14.5 million in salary from the franchise tag for the 2018 campaign. The Steelers also have the option to offer him more money on the contract for the rest of the year, which is entirely under the front office's jurisdiction to work that out if desired.

This is a major development with Bell that should have him back in the mix for the last 10 games of the year. The Steelers have struggled over the last couple of weeks with the team currently sitting tied at the bottom of the AFC North with 1-2-1 record through the first month. Pittsburgh has had some issues offensively that have been a major part of their struggles out of the gate that has drawn more scrutiny on the pending situation around Bell.

Second-year running back James Conner has struggled to produce since his standout Week 1 outing where he had 195 total scrimmage yards as he has matched that exact total yardage in the last three games. Conner struggled to produce in the 26-14 loss racking up 19 rushing yards on nine attempts with three catches for 25 receiving yards. Bell has been their workhorse tailback in the last few years as he has established himself as arguably the best running back in the league while being one of the primary factors in the offense.
