Chris Paul missed Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Los Angeles Clippers due to COVID-19, but latest developments have the Phoenix Suns hoping he'll return soon.

According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, Paul has been symptoms free for some time now since his positive COVID-19 test. With that said, the team is confident he will be able to clear the league's health and safety protocols sooner rather than later.

In the absence of Chris Paul, Devin Booker took his game to another level and served as the team's primary playmaker. Book finished with his first career triple-double of 40 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the Suns to a 120-114 victory.

After the contest, Book dedicated the win to his mentor Paul and cited how his absence has motivated the Suns to play better and get the W.

Unfortunately, the team didn't provide any update on Paul's status for Game 2 on Tuesday. Head coach Monty Williams highlighted that he remains day-to-day, but there is no clear timetable for his return until he clears the league's protocols.

For what it's worth, there is a good chance Paul could return early since the isolation period can be reduced for vaccinated individuals. Matt Barnes recently told ESPN that CP3 told him he has been vaccinated.

Sure enough, everyone in Phoenix is hoping Paul will be able to return soon, especially since they are just a better team with him controlling the offense. Booker is deadly as he proved in Game 1 of the West Finals, but the Suns are lethal with the so-called Point God.
