The Phoenix Suns found their marquee starting-caliber point guard in Ricky Rubio who they hope to pair in the backcourt with their up and coming superstar Devin Booker.

When asked to comment on his backcourt mate, Rubio offered huge praise for the 22-year-old.

The veteran Spaniard also added that the last few seasons haven't been too kind to the oft-injured guard who needed to shoulder the bulk of the scoring load and at times even creating his own shot and for others. So the team needs to pitch in and help.

“We just have to take advantage of that. Try to win games with what he brings to the table and make things for his life a little bit easier.”

Despite owning some insane career numbers in four years, the 6-foot-6 phenom has yet to reap any individual accolades for his efforts. Other than an All-Rookie selection, he has yet to make an All-NBA Team largely due to their lack of team success which plays a major factor in the selection process.

The Suns are banking on Rubio's extensive experience on the big stage (both foreign and domestic) to be the catalyst that puts the team over the hump. What he lacks for in shooting, the 28-year-old hopes to make up for with his defensive presence and elite playmaking – with the latter skill helping set the table for not only Booker but also Rookie of the Year race third-placer DeAndre Ayton who also figures to be a huge piece of the franchise moving forward.
