Matt Barnes will not be pleased about this.
Earlier this week, Derek Fisher and his girlfriend, Gloria Govan, were involved in a car accident on the 101 freeway in Los Angeles, California. The Highway Patrol then arrested him on suspicion of DUI, after they were both pulled out from the totaled vehicle and brought to safety.
News has recently emerged though that the SUV that Fisher was driving is registered to the Golden State Warriors swingman and Govan’s ex-husband, as reported by TMZ.
“The SUV that Derek Fisher wrecked over the weekend in his DUI crash is registered to one Matthew K. Barnes… TMZ Sports has learned.”
“In fact, we're told the Golden State Warriors star had given the Escalade to Gloria specifically “for the kids.”
Fisher and Barnes have been involved in a much publicized feud since the former New York Knicks head coach dated Govan. There were also reports last year that the two got into a fistfight after Barnes apparently drove to Fisher’s residence to confront him.
No statement has been issued yet regarding the car registration and if indeed Barnes’ owns it. However, once the investigation on the incident is done, the authorities, as well as Fisher, are expected to release one, that could shed more light to the case and also find out if the speculations are all true or not.
