Clowney, a versatile 6-foot-5, 255-pound linebacker who also plays defensive end, was selected with the first overall pick in 2015 by the Texans. The South Carolina product is currently holding out for a long-term deal after Houston used their franchise tag to retain Clowney's talents for a single year, signing him to a one-year, $15.9 million contract. Clowney, however, has not signed that franchise-tagged deal, thus explaining his holdout.
Reportedly, Clowney has been working with NBA star LeBron James' trainer, David Alexander, per the Chronicle.
The Texans are entering their second week of the training camp. They have a preseason matchup on August 8th with the Green Bay Packers. Houston later plays the Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys, and Los Angeles Rams in August rounding out their preseason slate of games.
