DeAndre Hopkins has plenty of records to his name. On Sunday, the Houston Texans star wide receiver added another: the third-youngest player in NFL history to reach 8,000 receiving yards. Against the Oakland Raiders, Hopkins did so at the age of 27.

Since the Texans made him a first-round selection in 2013, Hopkins has been the face of consistency at the position. The receiver — otherwise known as “Nuk” — has tallied at least 50 receptions, 800 yards and two touchdowns in each of his first six seasons (not counting 2019).

Though never a flashy receiver, Hopkins is a superstar in the NFL by all means. His stats reflect that — he even has a 99 overall rating in Madden — especially with young quarterback Deshaun Watson, who he has found his football soul mate with.

Said Watson on Hopkins training camp, via Texans Wire:

“That's my dog. D-Hop, that's like my brother, man. We talk about everything and I've known him since I've been recruited at Clemson. Just being able to have him just around, just in my circle is awesome. Be able to talk about everything. Family members, family situations, off the field stuff, on the field stuff. Our chemistry is just – it seems like we've been knowing each other for a long time, since we were little kids. But yeah, having him as a friend, as a teammate, it's been awesome.”

With Watson throwing passes to him for the foreseeable future, Hopkins should continue breaking records.

That's especially true considering Hopkins has missed just one game in his already great NFL career.
