Paul George of the Oklahoma City Thunder is in the midst of the best season of his professional career. After surprisingly opting to re-sign with the Thunder after he was widely rumored to be interested in “going home” to California via joining LeBron James on the Los Angeles Lakers, PG13 instead opted for the safety and security of playing alongside walking triple-double Russell Westbrook.

So far this season, that decision has paid off. George has taken a major leap and is more or less carrying the brunt of the Thunder’s offensive workload while also playing superlative defense on a night-to-night basis.

Per Basketball Reference, PG13 is producing exceptional stats of 28.2 points per game, 8.2 rebounds per game, 4.2 assists per game and 2.2 steals per game while making 3.8 triples per game on 9.8 attempts. All of those numbers represent career-highs!

George is a definite MVP candidate, though the likely winner will either be Giannis Antetokounmpo or James Harden. However, George has produced a flurry of “MVP moments,” and tonight’s game against the Indiana Pacers is no exception.

Though a close game so far, George produced one of the wildest shots of the night after being fouled by Wesley Matthews in the third quarter:

As the caption says, that does indeed look something like a shot from a game of H.O.R.S.E.
