With the 2017-18 NBA season approaching, Paul George is patiently waiting to play with Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder. After seven seasons with the Indiana Pacers, George will have an opportunity to play with another All-Star as he is set to become an unrestricted free agent following the season.

Over the past couple of days, all the discussion has been on the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor boxing match. While Mayweather won in the 10th round via TKO, most were surprised McGregor not only landed punches, but won the early rounds. With George getting in game shape, the combat sports fan could not help but mention Mayweather on Instagram:

While there is uncertainty surrounding George's future in Oklahoma City, the team did rid themselves of Victor Oladipo's four-year, $84 million deal. With an opportunity to play with the league's Most Valuable Player for a full season, it may tempt the four-time All-Star to re-sign based on how far they advance in the playoffs.

However, there will be plenty of competition with George wanting to play for his hometown Los Angeles Lakers. With the Lakers fined $500,000 for violating the NBA's anti-tampering policy, they will still be able to acquire him via trade or free agency.
