The Minnesota Timberwolves take on the Utah Jazz on Thursday and the team will be without point guards Derrick Rose and Jeff Teague for the second consecutive game.

Rose is dealing with right elbow soreness, while Teague has inflammation in his left ankle. Both guards didn't play on Tuesday versus the Denver Nuggets, a game the Timberwolves lost by a final score of 133-107.

The Timberwolves are 32-36 on the season. They are in the 10th spot in the Western Conference standings and will likely miss the playoffs this season.

In 51 games this season for Minnesota, Derrick Rose is averaging 18.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per contest. The former league MVP is shooting 48.2 percent from the field, 37.0 percent from beyond the arc and 85.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Rose is the Timberwolves' second-leading scorer behind All-Star big man Karl-Anthony Towns.

Jeff Teague, meanwhile, is putting up 12.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game. The 30 year old is shooting 42.3 percent from the floor, 33.3 percent from the 3-point line and 80.4 percent from the foul line.

Tyus Jones will start at point guard for the Timberwolves on Thursday with both Rose and Teague out. Third stringer Jerryd Bayless will be the backup guard. Minnesota will probably get blown out by the Jazz.
