Life has not given the easy road to Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star Derrick Rose. Now that we are seeing the former MVP on the way to returning to top form, Rose says that he's been through ‘trials and tribulations' throughout his career.

Chris Hine of Star Tribune wrote a column on the Wolves' recent troubles, including Rose's individual perspective on how the Butler trade circus is affecting the team.

At the other end of the locker room, Rose didn’t completely agree. He said he has been able to block out the noise of Butler’s trade request just by focusing on himself.

“I’ve been through enough trials and tribulations myself,” Rose said. “So, I just try to stay focused and I mean, just coming in, being a professional and let the front office and whoever is involved handle it.”

Rose's comments come on the heels of the team's fifth straight loss this season. He was also referring to Butler's confusing relationship with the Wolves front office and how he is not viewing that as a distraction.

While many people are clamoring for the Timberwolves to immediately trade Butler just to let this issue go away, Rose advises his teammates that they could all learn from this.

“Not young players, you know what I mean?” Rose said. “But to each his own. Everybody handles everything different. If anything, I think everybody is just watching and trying to see how it’s going to play out, or if anything learn from it.”

Derrick Rose is not just sounding off some words here. The 30-year old All-Star is leading by example through his stellar play this season. Rose is averaging 18.8 points per game, his highest scoring output since 2012.
