The Minnesota Timberwolves take on the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday in The Big Easy and the team will once again be without the services of Jeff Teague and Derrick Rose.

Jeff Teague has been out since Dec. 15 with left ankle inflammation, while Derrick Rose will miss his second-straight game due to a right ankle sprain he suffered on Dec. 28 against the Atlanta Hawks.

The Timberwolves will start Tyus Jones at point guard. The former Duke star started versus the Miami Heat on Sunday and he finished with 12 points and five assists in Minnesota's 113-104 win in South Beach.

Jeff Teague has played in 23 games this season for the Timberwolves. The veteran guard is averaging 11.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game while shooting 38.4 percent from the floor, 31.1 percent from beyond the arc and 86.4 percent from the free-throw line.

Derrick Rose, meanwhile, has appeared in 32 games this year. The former league MVP is averaging 18.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per contest and shooting an efficient 48.6 percent from the field, 46.2 percent from the 3-point line and 83.8 percent from the charity stripe.

The Timberwolves enter Monday with a record of 17-19, good for 13th place in the Western Conference standings. Minnesota is looking for its fourth win in its last five games.
