The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without their starting backcourt of Jeff Teague and Derrick Rose against the Boston Celtics, now adding forward Robert Covington to that list as well, according to ESPN's Tim Bontemps.

Jeff Teague has missed the team's last eight games with an ankle injury, which has had the Wolves split games since his absence (4-4), including a pivotal New Year's Eve loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Derrick Rose had been listed as doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Celtics on Tuesday, and he will miss a third straight game tonight with an ankle issue of his own, further limiting Minnesota's offensive options.

Robert Covington starred on Monday's loss to the Pelicans, posting 16 points and four steals, but is nursing some right ankle soreness after playing 38 minutes in the game.

Head coach Tom Thibodeau will play it safe with these injured players and will have some shuffling to do after losing Covington — likely moving Andrew Wiggins to small forward and giving rookie Josh Okogie some decent run  against the Celtics.

Karl-Anthony Towns is expected to handle the bulk of the scoring load, but will need some major help from his teammates to take down a Celtics team that has won three of their last five, but comes off a loss to the San Antonio Spurs.
