With the regular season more than halfway through, Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Karl-Anthony Towns has recently admitted that he may need to make some adjustments when it comes to how he deals with game officials.

According to The Athletic's Jon Krawczynski, Towns recently had a talk with the Wolves coaching staff, and he was advised to “tone down” the way he speaks with the referees.

To be clear, Towns is referring to his head coach Ryan Saunders here and his team of assistant coaches. He has had no direct conversation with game officials or the league with regards to the subject in question.

To be fair to Towns, though, he does not exactly have a reputation of being an incessant complainer. He may have his moments when it comes to losing his cool with the referees, but it is nothing out of the ordinary.

As a matter of fact, Towns has only accumulated a total of only four technical fouls throughout this season. He has played a grand total of 1,531 minutes in 46 appearances thus far, so that's actually not a bad record.

His four T's pales in comparison to the league's current leader in technical fouls, Detroit Pistons big man Andre Drummond, who has been T'd up 13 times already this season.

Perhaps the Wolves just want to make sure that Towns is able to maintain his cool, calm, and collected image. After all, no matter how hard they try to deny it, one's reputation plays a huge role in the eyes of game officials.
