Karl-Anthony Towns got himself right just in time for the Minnesota Timberwolves. After an embarrassing Game 3 loss in their first-round series against the Memphis Grizzlies, they won Game 4 by a single point and showed they truly do belong in the NBA playoffs.

After two disappointing performances, Towns had enough. He explained to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports that he was not going to be denied the ball and planned to attack the Grizzlies from all over. He did just that, scoring 33 points on 8-17 shooting to go along with 14 boards and three assists to help the Timberwolves bounce back.

“I was just determined to force [the Grizzlies’] hand,” Towns told Yahoo Sports after Game 4. “I was going to be aggressive and do whatever it took to get the ball. I went about different ways of attacking, different points of attack and different ways of getting the ball in my hands. We all watched tape and we all had to get the job done. That’s what it was about for me.”

Towns' plan seems simple enough and was something Minnesota could have done earlier, but better late than never. He showed why he was an All-Star. Players who can score from anywhere are always a threat when they stay focused and determined. Finding an edge will be crucial for Towns and the Wolves.

With the series heading back to Memphis, Towns will have to keep his foot on the gas. The Timberwolves will have to play another very strong game in order to get in a position to clinch the series and advance in the NBA playoffs for the first time since 2004. Another Karl-Anthony Towns masterpiece will be needed.
