Minnesota Timberwolves head coach/president Tom Thibodeau believes health is the only thing holding point guard Derrick Rose back.

After the Timberwolves' morning shootaround Monday, Thibodeau told reporters that as long as Rose is healthy, he's still one of the best players in the league.

Derrick Rose is coming off a stellar performance against the Dallas Mavericks over the weekend. The former MVP scored 28 points while shooting 11-of-21 from the field, 2-of-5 from beyond the arc and 4-of-6 from the free-throw line. The 30-year-old also dished out five assists, grabbed five rebounds and racked up two steals in roughly 32 minutes of action.

Since becoming the youngest MVP in NBA history back in 2011 with the Chicago Bulls, Rose has undergone four knee surgeries. However, he has gotten back up time and time again. The point guard has put in a ton of work and refuses to give up on his dream and love of basketball after all he has been through. He’s an inspiration to many young basketball players out there.

Despite the four knee injuries, Rose is still one of the fastest players in the game. He had a majestic reverse layup versus the Mavs that drew oohs and aahs from the Dallas crowd.

Only making the veteran’s minimum this season, Derrick Rose could prove to be a major steal and one of the NBA's better contracts if he stays healthy and plays at a high level. He is currently averaging 16.0 points, 5,0 assists and 4.3 rebounds in 28.7 minutes per game.
