On Saturday night during the Minnesota Timberwolves' 121-105 victory over the top-seeded Houston Rockets, the basketball world got to see a glimpse of vintage Derrick Rose as the Timberwolves won their first playoff game in nearly 14 years.

Rose turned back the clock at Target Center when he went off for 17 points on 8-of-16 shooting from off the bench, with 10 points in the second quarter and seven points in the final frame.

Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau, who coached Rose during their time with the Chicago Bulls, was very happy with his guard's performance off the bench.

“I thought Derrick gave us a big boost off the bench, but we needed everyone,” coach Thibodeau said after the game, via a video uploaded to Twitter by Fox Sports North. “We've got to keep working at it. We have been a very good offensive team all year and I want us to take more threes. It's something we need to continue to work at. We want to play to our strengths and cover up our weaknesses.”

Minnesota, which currently trails the best-of-seven series with Houston 2-1, will look to tie things up during a pivotal Game 4 matchup on Monday night at Target Center.
