During the Minnesota Timberwolves' loss to the Dallas Mavericks Saturday night on the road, center Karl-Anthony Towns was at the free-throw line, and the fans at American Airlines Center started chanting “Jimmy Butler” at him.

Butler, of course, has requested a trade from the Timberwolves. The four-time All-Star didn't play Saturday due to precautionary rest. Butler reportedly has issues with Towns and his nonchalant attitude towards the game.

Karl-Anthony Towns missed the first free throw, causing the Mavs fans to chant “Jimmy Butler” even louder on the second attempt. Just an awkward scene for the Timberwolves:

This whole Jimmy Butler saga started almost six weeks ago and is still not over. The Timberwolves haven't traded their disgruntled star because they haven't found a deal they like.

Butler was booed during the Timberwolves' home opener on Friday against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but those booes turned into MVP chants after Butler scored 33 points. This situation just keeps getting stranger and stranger, and as long as Butler is on the roster, there's won't be any normalcy around the Minnesota organization.

Karl-Anthony Towns signed a five-year, $190 million extension before the season started. The former No. 1 overall pick reportedly signed it under the assumption that Butler would be gone. Towns can say all the right things to the media, but he probably would like a fresh start without Butler.
