The league has been forced to take unprecedented action ahead of the 2020 NFL season in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Fortunately, Tennessee Titans wide receiver Adam Humphrie is optimistic that the NFL plans to work as a collective.

Although some states have opted to ease restrictions with the stay-at-home orders, others remain in quarantine amid the ongoing pandemic. According to Eric Boynton of USA TODAY, Humphries says not a single team will be returning to their practice facilities until all of them have been given the option:

Humphries added, “From what I’ve been hearing, whenever we are allowed to get back into our facility it will rely on every team in the NFL being able to do so. If the Rams or Giants can’t use their facilities then all 30 other teams won’t be allowed. We’re all in this together from an NFL standpoint.”

The Titans talents comments are indicative of just how important it is to try and maintain a level field of competition. While there are teams that will be allowed to get back to their daily routine at the facilities sooner than others, it seems the Titans are among those that will wait patiently for the rest of the league to catch up.

The NFL recently announced that it would be extending their virtual offseason program until the end of May. This is will allow teams that are in states with heavy restrictions some extra time to figure out their situation. Regardless, it appears the consensus around the league is that they will wait to officially kickstart offseason workouts in person once every team has been cleared to do so.
