UFC heavyweight title contender Cyril Gane has shared his thoughts on the leaked sparring footage of him and his upcoming opponent Francis Ngannou.

Ahead of their heavyweight title clash at UFC 270, Gane and Ngannou has been quizzed to comment on their training footage where the challenger can be seen as the better looking fighter than the reigning heavyweight champ.

Revealing his real take on the subject, Gane, who will try to beat Ngannou and win his first UFC heavyweight title, admitted that there were also other clips where Ngannou had “the edge” over him but the one which has gone viral recently was the one that made him “look good.”

“It’s true that in that clip – I’m not going to lie – it was a soft sparring and I could confidently develop my game,” Gane said via French oulet La Sueur. “There were other sparring sessions where he [Francis Ngannou] had more the edge. One time it was me, one time it was him. To say that he was far ahead, no, it’s not necessarily true. But it’s true that this particular clip made me look good.”

Ngannou had earlier voiced his thoughts on the said video and according to the champ, it doesn't make any sense as it was intended to show that Gane was “the man” given it's for a promo for his fight.

“When I saw that footage, my first reaction was laughing,” Ngannou explained. “Because I know exactly what happened at those training sessions. But this is the thing. When they want to like, do some highlight, they always choose the part of the video that they use. And they have a lot of videos like that because, at the time, they were filming our training session to promote him, his fight, and everything. So, there was a lot of footage from those few training sessions. But a lot of them never came out and would never come out. And I know for a fact that they will never come out.

“It’s about [making] him look better and make me look bad, to prove that he’s the man.”
