Minnesota Timberwolves swingman Josh Okogie has developed into a key contributor during his rookie campaign and has parlayed that early excellence into a spot on the NBA Rising Stars Challenge roster. With many getting to see the Lagos, Nigeria, native for the first time Friday, he showed up with this monster put-back jam over the back of Brooklyn Nets center Jarrett Allen's head.

Normally, Allen and his 1.6 blocks per game are all for getting up and at least taking a shot at those who come down the lane, but he had little prayer of stopping Okogie on this one.

Okogie has been activity personified over his first 49 games in Minnesota, serving as both a defensive ace and Mr. Hustle for a club that is clawing to claim a playoff spot. He has shot just 36.4 percent from the field overall, with his jump shot a work in progress, but Okogie's athleticism cannot be disputed, as is evident by that enormous response to a missed shot.

Okogie starred for two seasons at Georgia Tech before making the leap to the NBA, having averaged 18.2 points per game as a sophomore. Despite getting just Third-Team All-ACC honors, the Timberwolves snatched up Okogie with the 20th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft and he has already made 27 starts by the All-Star break.

With Robert Covington sidelined recently with a knee injury, Okogie has stepped up and stepped into the starting five on a regular basis. He'll be a contributor for Minnesota moving forward, which shouldn't come as a surprise after seeing the explosiveness he put on display with this monster jam.
