Ben Simmons' issues with the Philadelphia 76ers just became a problem for another team. The NBA announced Tuesday that Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacod has been fined $50,000 for tampering.

In an interview with The Chronicle, the Warriors owner was a little too transparent with his answers. The Dubs haven't shown any genuine interest in trading for Simmons mainly because of the Sixers' hefty asking price. This deal is so expensive it ended up costing the Lacob for talking about it hypothetically.

If the Warriors were interested in Simmons, trading Draymond Green or Andrew Wiggins would have to happen. Then you would need to pair them with James Wiseman, Jonathan Kuminga or Moses Moody–a price Golden State isn't willing to pay for the frustrated Simmons.

The Warriors are one of the most loyal teams in the NBA. They try to keep an open line of communication from ownership to players. If an outrageous deal comes to the table, the Warriors would think about letting go of their rookies. That situation hasn't and probably won't occur this season.

Golden State drafted the two players they wanted from the start in Kuminga and Moody. They believe those two and second-year center Wiseman could be their future after Stephen Curry and crew are gone. The Warriors also think they have what it takes to compete now.

Bringing in Simmons makes a lot of sense on paper, but in reality, it can be risky. The interview on Tuesday is probably the last time we hear talk of Ben Simmons from the Dubs' front office. If not, there will be another hefty fine handed out.
