In their 128-100 win against the New York Knicks, newly acquired center DeMarcus Cousins was ejected from the game. Given his track record, this wouldn't be much of a surprise as he is known for his penchant for on-court outbursts. However, the surprising thing is that he wasn't even suited up to play in the game. He was called for the technical by referee Scott Foster while he was jawing with Knicks forward Enes Kanter after being already warned. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr wasn't very happy with his new player's behavior.

According to sources, the two were already talking trash during the pregame workouts and the referees were advised to keep an eye on the situation.

ESPN's Nick Friedell, quoted Foster's thoughts after the game ,

Kanter and Cousins were both warned prior to the ejection about talking to the bench,” Foster told a pool reporter after the game. “Cousins took exception to the ruling and during the timeout he was ejected for one technical foul for unsportsmanlike conduct.”

According to Steve Kerr, DeMarcus Cousins has already apologized to his fellow warriors for what happened.

You can here Kerr saying that these kinds of antics will ‘not help us win a championship, will not help his reputation' which is true. Cousins signed with the Warriors for the minimum mainly because not other team was offering him any deal. Some say teams are hesistant to sign him because of the Achilles injury that he had last year but maybe also of his reputation as a bad locker room guy.

Nevertheless, when healthy, Cousins is a top-tier center in the NBA. No situation will benefit him more than winning a championship with the Warriors and raising his overall value in the NBA market.
