Towards the end of the regular season, the Golden State Warriors seemingly limped to the finish line unhealthy and their defense out of sync. But so far against the San Antonio Spurs, Draymond Green and the Warriors' defense have gradually improved as the team is beginning to finally click again.

On Thursday night at AT&T Center for Game 3 of their first-round series, the defending champions were able to pull away from the Spurs in the second half en route to a huge 110-97 victory thanks a lot to an impressive defensive effort from Green and the rest of his Warriors teammates.

Following the win, Green spoke with members of the media during his postgame press conference. In a video kindly posted to Twitter by Warriors beat reporter Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Green opened up about Golden State's defense and gave an in-depth explanation as to what he sees on the court.

“I think, personally, I've been pretty good all over the floor, in the fray, and trying to muddy things up for them on offense and trying to get them out of some of their patterns,” Green said. “They're one of those squads that if you let them get into their offense and whatever they're trying to get into, they run great stuff, they're well-coached and they're very disciplined. But if you start to try to break those patterns up a little bit, it gets a little bit tougher on them. So that's kind of been my mindset.”

As for their team defense? Green has no complaints.

“Our team I think has been amazing. With the same mindset that I personally had: just swarming those guys and trying to making everything tough. For the most part, I think we've been pretty good on the boards, which was a big key coming into the series,” Green added. “The attention to detail. You can guard all you want and as good as you want, but if you don't finish they play against this squad, they're going to make you pay. Sometimes they have five guys crashing the glass, so I think the discipline on the boards has been amazing as well.”

Green and the Warriors will look to sweep the Spurs in Game 4 and advance to the next round.
