Over the years, Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson has made a name for himself, especially in Game 6 of a playoff series. Whenever a Game 6 comes around, fans are locked into the TV to see what “Game 6 Klay” is going to do. On Friday night, Steve Kerr was doing the same. The future Hall of Fame coach watched the game from home as he was fighting off the COVID-19 virus.

On Sunday, Kerr spoke to the media for the first time since testing positive, and he was elated to watch what Thompson did in the closeout game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

“I couldn't help but feel overjoyed for Klay, given everything he's been through,” Steve Kerr told ClutchPoints. “To see him knock down that final three and hold up six fingers and embrace the crowd, and vice versa. It just brought chills to me.”

Klay Thompson was the Warriors' best player on offense in Game 6 once again. He scored a game-high 30 points and knocked down eight 3-pointers. His consistent shooting kept the Dubs in position to take over in the fourth quarter, and that's what happened.

The Warriors outscored the Grizzlies 32-19, and they won the game 110-96 to advance to the Western Conference Finals. It's their first Conference Finals appearance since 2019, the year Thompson suffered his first season-ending injury in the NBA Finals.

Ever since that moment, the Warriors have dreamed about returning to that stage and reclaiming the title of the best team in the world.  But to get there, they will have to beat Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.
