Gilbert Arenas is no stranger to being involved in controversies. That is the case once again, as he surprisingly did not include Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry in his list of top five point guards in the league today.

During the latest episode of his show via Complex, Out of Bounds, the former three-time All-Star named Chris Paul, LeBron James, John Wall, Damian Lillard, and Ben Simmons as his current top five in the position.

His omission of Stephen Curry comes as a surprise, especially being a former back-to-back MVP, as well as a two-time NBA champion, who is the main piece of the Warriors' juggernaut. Arenas explained that since he has not led his team in assists, he won't be able to call him a top point guard.

“I can't put Curry as a Top 5 point guard,” Arenas explained. “You know he hasn't actually led the Golden State Warriors in assists … you're a guard, you're a scorer … if I pass the ball to Klay Thompson 15 times … that means I get six assists a game.

“Then you have KD on your team, pick-and-roll pass it back — he's gonna make at least six of those. So the fact that you're not averaging 12 assists from just two of these guys, is a problem.”

While Arenas gave a fact, it also adds to the shock of the fans, since he chose James and Simmons over the 29-year-old Davidson product, even if they are not playing full time at the point guard spot.

Other notable snubs on his list are Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and reigning MVP Russell Westbrook.
