Golden State Warriors rookie Jacob Evans knows just what to expect coming into a championship team with elite standards. Most of all, he seems to already be aware of what's laying ahead of him over the course of his rookie season.

Evans shared how he first found out that he was being drafted by the Warriors, noting how his first two interactions were with coach Steve Kerr and Draymond Green, who was the first person to pick up the phone to welcome him.

“He was saying just how excited he is for me to get here and I know he’s going to be on my butt from day one,” Evans said of his conversation with Green during today's introductory press conference. “I'm expecting that.”

While some of his teammates are already on vacation, Green stayed around the facilities, helping out the front office to determine what prospect could fit this roster best — likely in agreement with management on drafting the Cincinnati three-and-D product.

Evans is a natural fit in this roster — not a scorer, but a productive contributor that can shoot the deep ball and defend multiple positions with an active motor — skills that play right to meat and bones of this roster's construction.

Just as he did with Jordan Bell, Green is expected to take Evans under his wing and help him navigate the whirlwind of an 82-game season and the expectations of an impending postseason to follow.
