Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium first reported Friday that Jeremy Lin had struck a deal to join the Golden State Warriors, but Lin is trying to downplay the news.

The veteran NBA point guard quote tweeted Charania, saying “No decisions have been made” with respect to his basketball future:

Lin had spent the past season playing with the Beijing Ducks of the Chinese Basketball Association, and Charania reported Lin was awaiting clearance from the CBA before inking a deal with the Dubs.

Lin's response could have something to do with this Anthony Slater report that it's an Exhibit 10 deal with the Warriors:

There seems to be a lack of clarity with respect to Lin's situation, but the guard may have just been trying to clarify that he won't be with the big club right now, but rather in the G League once logistics are figured out.

The former New York Knicks darling had initially declared his intent to join the newly formed Ignite G League team. However, Lin reportedly left the team to seek other opportunities. That opportunity very well could be with the Santa Cruz Warriors, with the possibility of getting called up to the Dubs at some point down the road.

Or perhaps Lin is hoping to earn a roster spot at the highest level right now and still exploring other options. The former Harvard standout has not played in the NBA since the 2018-19 campaign, when he finished the season as a member of the NBA champion Toronto Raptors.

Lin headed overseas after went unsigned last offseason. There might be some concern about a knee injury suffered in the first game of the 2017-18 season, though Lin seemed to bounce back just fine the following season.

Regardless, the 32-year-old said he has yet to make a final decision about his situation, so we'll wait and see what happens.
